KilianWare Pottery and Kilian Enterprises LLC produce items using traditional, non-industrial, and experimental methods. By purchasing, the customer acknowledges and accepts the following:

• Intentional Imperfections: Our work may possess natural variations, including "kiln-kisses," abrasive textures, or sharp artisanal defects inherent to the 17th and 18th-century firing processes. These are hallmarks of authenticity, not manufacturing flaws.

• Assumption of Risk: The customer assumes all risk associated with the handling of heavy, fragile, or textured ceramic objects. Physical injury resulting from known artisanal textures is the sole responsibility of the user.

2. Food Safety & Material Usage

Our products are categorized by their intended use. It is the customer's strictly held responsibility to verify the suitability of a piece for its intended environment.

• Labeling Requirement: Only items explicitly labeled as "Food Safe" have been cleared for the consumption of food or drink.

• Untested Materials: Many of our historical revivals use traditionally sourced clays and glazes that have not been lab-tested for acid resistance or leaching. Unless a "Food Safe" label is present, all items are sold as decorative or historical study objects only.

• Duty of Inquiry: If no safety label is posted on a product listing, the customer must issue a written inquiry to verify its safety before use.

• Misuse: Any use of a product outside of its reasonably assumed or labeled purpose (e.g., using a decorative vessel for hot liquids) is done at the customer's sole risk.
